Hofi has spoken. In his opinion the cast hammers are somewhat better.
That said, both of my Hofi hammers are forged and I wouldn't trade either of them for 10 cast hammers. They have become a part of me. My hammers were slit, drifted and forged by Hofi's own hands. Each forged hammer is unique and has a character of it's own. My hammers were made in 1997 at the Ozark School in Missouri before the school even had a building and was held at the fairgrounds. The smaller of the two hammers I used in a week long class with Hofi in '97 and another in '98. I may be a little prejudiced in this and I am sure my old friend and teacher Hofi will allow me this argument in favor of the forged hammer.
