Can any one point me in the right direction for pneumatic cylinders switches controls etc

Hi, depends on how complicated you want to go, I have a couple old Yoder mechanical type hammers, too huge for the average sheet metal hobby guy, the old air fender hammers used in the 30's to 50's is a good option, and is basically a c shaped pipe frame that uses a muffler type gun mechanism to deliver the blows, that is the set up I would use if I were making one, weld or machine a bracket to hold a muffler gun or if you want heaver duty an old rivet gun, make your dies and your ready to go, just need some linkage to operate the button on the air gun
I'd suggest using a foot pedal to control the air flow.
I made mine to accept a chipping hammer on an adjustable vertical shaft that i could lock in place.
I made the anvil with a hardy hole so i can use my anvil stakes.
The thicker the metal, the longer the piston stroke of the hammer.....pf
