I annhilated my post somehow so I'm starting over.

My web designer notified me in tonight's e-mail that a bug in the video addition to the web site has been fixed. So if you tried and it didn't work, please try again.

Today I did a stroke adjuster handle assembly for the Octagon 75, did a welding job for a long time business customer for the first time in about 6 months, and did sand blasting of parts for the next 50 (plus rebuilt the sandblaster's nozzle).

I used to do at least a welding job per week on the average for this company, but when the construction sector became moribund so did this part of my business. I fix axles, frames, and hitches on modular structures and fix shipping containers. It felt good to be doing some of that today, in the warm sunshine, and doing vertical up welding with 7018 rod. In the hammer business I use mig almost exclusively.

The sandblasting was becoming less and less effective. I then saw the nozzle needed repair so I made a new nozzle body in the lathe and started a batch of them so that the next time one goes bad I have an immediate replacement. Abrasive erosion takes its toll in about 10 hours.

The stroke adjuster lever wasn't going to be used on the 50 and 75, because the design I have been using takes about 4 hours to build. The new design can be done in an hour. I've used a variety of designs over the years, so we'll just have to see how satisfied I am with this new scheme.

Hello John,

Been reading up on your progress on the hammers you building, doing a great job. With the sand or bead blasting nozels you might try carbide, the add says they last 3 times as long as ceramic nozels. We got are from www.tptools.com.
