Well found a suitable stump to mount my new anvil on. This piece of what ever has a 5 1/2" X 5 1/2" x 9 1/2" socket in the underside so I cut a 5" tall post out of the top of my stump to fit in the socket. This solved the issue of how to keep this thing from walking on top of the stump. I mounted it yesterday afternoon it took My wife and I both to get this thing on top of the stump. I don't have a scale but going on how much effort it took us to move it i think my original estimate on the weight was on the light side. I wouldn't be surprised if it weighed close to 300lbs. The stump it is now sitting on is set 10" in to the ground and weighs a good 75-80lbs. I got to play on it this afternoon after letting it settle over night. Oh man is it nice. It strikes with a nice dull thud and metal moves very nicely on it. Now I just need too attach a horn of some fashion to it and I don't see of anything I can't do on it.

Oh here are some pics sorry if they are a touch slanted. Darn camera phones.

I have no idea. No one I have asked has been able to tell me but it sure moves metal nice. :D
I'm using an old rail road car coupler knuckle. We have to use what we have. Good luck.
Mark that is the truth. One of these day I will have a nice London Pattern anvil but till then this works just fine.
