Carving Block
by Jim G.

This is a carving block for holding a head, etc, while you carve details into the material.
Using what I had on hand I used a piece of 2 1/4" x 2" angle for the top piece. I think this worked out better because it gives me 2 different angles. The dimensions on the pieces are 2-1/4" x 2"x 1/4" by 5" long for the top piece, and 2" x 2" x 1/4" by 10" long for the bottom piece. The bottom piece is about twice the length of the jaw width of the vise.
As in the picture arc weld one piece of angle iron at a right angle to the other piece of angle iron, positioned middle to middle.
To use place in vise, use vise jaw to clamp the thing your working on where you want it.

Comments:
What I like is it stays in the vice between heats, not needing a third hand.
A Blueprint does not have to be long and complicated to be useful. Great idea!
